Cardiff City players Perry Ng and Jack Moylan have been named in the Professional Footballers' Association League One Team of the Year for the 2025-26 campaign. The honour was announced at the PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday.
Cardiff finished second in League One last season, amassing 82 points from 42 games with a record of 24 wins, 10 draws and 8 losses. Their strong defensive record, conceding just 43 goals, was a key factor in their promotion push, though they ultimately finished 11 points behind champions Lincoln City.
The PFA Team of the Year reflects the standout performers across the division. Perry Ng, Cardiff's dependable right-back, earned his place in the defensive line. He is joined by new Cardiff recruit Jack Moylan, a forward who helped Lincoln City win promotion to the Championship before his summer move. The team also includes Lincoln goalkeeper George Wickens, defenders Sonny Bradley, Tendayi Darikwa, Carl Piergianni and Dan Ballard, midfielders Oliver Norwood and Lewis Wing, and forwards Kyle Wootton and Amario Cozier-Duberry. Ballard has since left Leyton Orient for Bristol City.
Having two players recognised by their peers is a significant boost for Cardiff. Perry Ng's consistency at the back was vital for a team that scored 77 goals last term. Jack Moylan's inclusion highlights the quality of the club's summer recruitment as they prepare for a new campaign. The pair's recognition comes after a season where Cardiff's final run of form was DWDDL.
The League One selections were part of a broader evening celebrating the best in English football. Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes was crowned the PFA Men's Player of the Year. Manchester City forward Khadija Shaw took the top women's award. The event brought together players from all levels of the game to honour outstanding contributions over the past season.
With the new season approaching, the club will aim to build on last year's second-place finish. The recognition for Ng and Moylan provides a foundation of proven quality. Integrating new signings and maintaining defensive solidity will be important as the team targets a successful campaign. Fans can track the team's progress and league position on our standings page. The +34 goal difference from last season shows the attacking threat they can carry forward.
