Cardiff City midfielders Cian Ashford and Joel Colwill have been called up to the senior Wales squad for the first time. They are part of a contingent of Bluebirds players selected for international duty across different squads this September and October.

Craig Bellamy's side will play Nations League matches, starting with Portugal in Lisbon. They then travel to face Denmark before hosting Norway and Denmark at Cardiff City Stadium. "Having missed out on a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Craig Bellamy's side now turn their attention to a set of Nations League matches against Portugal, Denmark and Norway," the Wales manager said.

Republic of Ireland call-ups

Forward Jack Moylan, who is Cardiff's top scorer this season, will join the Republic of Ireland squad. Moylan made a spectacular senior debut in June, scoring a hat-trick against Grenada. Defender Joel Bagan is also in the squad and will hope to make his own senior debut. Stephen Kenny's team face Kosovo, Israel and Austria across two match windows.

Wales Under-21s

Cardiff players have been selected for the Wales Under-21 squad, which is in its European Championship qualifying group. Luke Armstrong, Dakarai Mafico, Noah Anyadike, Robert Tankiewicz, Ronan Kpakio and Tanatswa Nyakuhwa will face Belgium and Austria.

Younger age groups

Players have been called up to the Wales Under-19 squad for a training camp and friendlies in Spain. Paul Moreno, Noah Williams, Jack Sykes and Hayden Allmark will face the USA, Norway and Northern Ireland.

Cardiff academy prospects are with the Wales Under-18 squad. Alex Cross, Charlie Bell, Keano Conaty, Logan Cartwright, Jacob Norris and Leo Papirnyk will play friendlies against Finland.

This widespread international recognition comes as Cardiff prepare for their return to Championship action. The club is in the table with points from games. Fans can also track the progress of all the club's internationals through our squad profiles.

The call-ups highlight the strength of Cardiff's development pathway, with players progressing from the academy to full international honours. For Ashford and Colwill, the opportunity arrives during a busy period for the club, which recently secured a win over Charlton Athletic.
